My descent into furniture madness.

 Hey new frands!

My name is Chanel, but my family calls me Chey, which is why my blog and business are named Chey's Design House - Not as fancy as my name.  I always joke that my momma thought I was going to be fancier than I actually am. I have a love of all things creative, however, I lost my love for a few years while my children were smaller.  Now that they are older and they don't "need" me or want me around as much as they used to I am able to find my passions again. This brings me to my obsession! Furniture revitalization, I won't call it updating, or flipping because I really do enjoy taking something and turning it into something completely new and unique. It doesn't stop with me either.  We have a gallery wall in our home that is filled with art from our entire family. Taking the time to create something or to update something that was previously unimaged is a wonderful feeling.  Come and join me as I bring you along this journey with me.  Here are some of the pieces I have finished for my home in the last few years. Most of my pieces have a custom color that I personally mixed up myself. I am not a fan of cookie-cutter you can find it in everyone's home. I want unique but timeless!  I am working on commission pieces as well and will be updating you on those throughout the process. 

  

I, unfortunately, couldn't salvage the original wood veneer on the dresser, and the black chest of drawers had previously been refinished and the veneer was missing, there was so much damage that needed to be repaired. I managed to get it all fixed and in working order. I love how this bedroom furniture turned out!
